HISTORY

Founded in 1953, our companies have been pillars of textile industry of Latin America. From 1963 to 1979 our companies had an association with Bemis Co. Based in Minnesota, U.S.A. manufacturing for them all their bag sewing thread and all fabric needed for their demand in all Central America.

In 1979 Bemis shares were purchased by the original owners and since then have expanded tremendously. In 1979 we added our mop manufacturing facilities and in 1984 we added our high tenacity sewing thread line. As a policy, we have updated year after year our manufacturing equipment expanding our production with state-of-the-art equipment.

Currently, our companies occupy more than 450,000 sq. ft. of buildings and a couple of sister companies: HILCASA, FIBRATEX, and TERRA POLYSTER, this last one in its own 8 acre industrial free trade zone.

 

SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

Over a thousand employees are working directly in our group, from professionals in Finance, Engineering, Mechatronics, Textiles and much more to the common laborer. Under a great working environment, our rotation is the lowest in the industry due to the great treatment and perks our employees receive.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

We strongly believe in ethical business, with respect and preservation of humans, animals and the environment.

 

We are proud to be part of a group of the most environmental companies in the world, not only due to the fact that we recycle waste and use the most amount of recycled materials, but also our footprint is almost non existant, re-utilizing our own waste, our own waste water, rain water, and even our solid waste is converted to Biomass to generate steam .

 

Our packaging (boxes, bags, tags, etc) are purchased specifically for their percentage usage of recycled components. We also maximize cargo so that physical goods and transport have less of an impact, for example our brick mops, that save in packaging and shipping up to 63% more cargo space, and our distributors and end users also save on their side on shipping.

 

Another investment we are improving upon is the Energy consumption, our engineering department is hard at work designing electronics and reducing motors, to lessen the electricity consumption, steam, etc.
